I love learning languages and study Japanese and Chinese in my spare time, and looking for a fresh start, I recently joined lang-8 to make it my full-time job to build a service that helps people in language and culture exchange.
I was a research assistant who developed tools to process and visualize geometry. I wrote C++, Java, and batch scripts to work with meshes built from biomedical data, and I worked with analysts who use the tools to work with the data to improve the software.
From 2005-2010, I earned a double major at San Jose State University, as well as a minor in Chinese. I was involved in math and computer science clubs and contributed to developing websites, mostly in PHP.
During my third year as an undergraduate student, I went to study abroad for a year in Hong Kong. I took math and engineering classes in addition to language and general education classes, and the experience turned me on to the idea of working abroad.
