With extensive hands-on experiences in management, data business strategy and planning, and data analytics, I have assisted companies at various stages (3 early-stage startups, 2 mature startups, 2 enterprises) for about 9 years. The verticals/services I worked for include food marketplace and delivery, wellness and heath improvement, chat-based travel concierge, massive data transfer, e-commerce, and more. And the areas at those companies I helped are strategic planning and budget control, lead and demand generation, online marketing tactics execution, data analytics with statistics and machine learning, staff hiring and team building.
There are three things I would like to pursue for the next 5 years: With the power of data analytics and technologies, I would like to
1. Navigate supply chains to be the system with optimal throughputs and least waste of resources with the ideas of open innovation and gig economy 2. Generate diversified revenue streams by introducing on-demand charge-based matching platforms 3. Construct a chain of systems to bring the poor closer to goods and relevant information
■ Strategic planning and management - Identify market potentials, formulate business strategies, and prepare tactics - Help generate the short and mid-term profit and loss statements and control budgets - Coordinate the daily and weekly operations of different teams for their monthly KPIs ■ Product development - Prepare a list and prototype of functionalities and user functions for mobile apps - Direct market fit/product fit with in-depth user interviews and third party research - Develop and update algorithms for predictive analytics and content recommendations ■ Growth hack - Direct data-driven approaches in identifying potential customers and lead PDCA activities - Develop digital marketing tactics on social media and keyword tools, monitor their effects periodically, and revise them to achieve target numbers at each stage of funnels
■ Strategic planning and management - Formulate business strategies and prepare tactics for existing service portfolio - Identify disconnects in services and negotiate partnerships with overseas vendors - Manage and grow an analytics team (12 including 2 contractors and 1 intern) - Direct and organize the hiring processes of data scientists and big data analysts ■ Lead and demand generation of analytics consulting - Organize sales strategies, generate sales materials, hold responsible for monthly sales - Present existing service portfolio and future directions at conferences ■ Marketing strategy and hands-on analytics - Structure clients’ data landscape and identify missing datasets to tailor to their strategy - Lead and customize marketing analytics approaches based on clients’ needs - Conduct hands-on analytics in various marketing areas with R, Python, SPSS Modelers
